📦 Collector Cabinets and Relics
âť— This article will be published on all eight of our other hotels in the coming weeks. We wanted to get the article out in English promptly so we can start enacting the changes detailed below.
Over the past several months, we’ve seen lots of players using Collector Cabinets to convert their rare furni to Relics. Relics can be used across all nine hotels and sold freely and safely on Immutable's marketplace. So far, we've added the OG Throne, Azure Dragon Lamp and Club Sofa to Collector Cabinets (see above picture).
Over the coming months and years, we expect to add many more rare furni to Collector Cabinets. With the addition of in-game Curator Stamp purchases with Silver and the Collectors Guild to the Classic client (see above picture), we’re well prepared to bring the benefits of Habbo Collectibles to many more players!
Collector Cabinet benefits:
- Brings full ownership and cross-hotel usage of existing furni to more players in the community
- Provides our community with a way to monetise their rare furni collections
- Provides a legitimate alternative to illegitimate, unsafe “parallel” markets
We’re making some significant changes to Collector Cabinets and Relics. We go into each of them below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Removing the Community Council and Discord Moderators from the Relic selection process
The Community Council and Moderators have done some fantastic work creating an exhaustive list of ALL the rare and desirable furni we’ve released over the past 23+ years. We will use this (enormous) list to put together Relic releases going forward.
Importantly, now that we have the list, we can detach the Community Council and the mods from the Relic selection process entirely. Going forward, the only people that know what individual Relic releases contain before they’re made public are Habbo Staff. The sole reason that we’re doing this is to remove any doubt in the community’s mind that information is being used to gain an unfair trading advantage.
Grouping Relic sets by furni type instead of colour
With the help of the Community Council, we’ve gone through the above-mentioned list and grouped all of the furni into Relic sets based on item type. For example, the “Azure” set will cease to exist, and the Azure Dragon Lamp will be part of a new “Dragon Lamp” set instead.
For more information about the Collection Screen, Collectible Sets, and the bonus items they provide, check this page.
↔️ Splitting the larger Relic sets
One issue that we encountered with grouping sets by item type is that some sets were turning out to be very big. For example, if we were to include all current and future recolours of Dragon Lamps we’ve done in one set, it would be far too big and would provide too much bonus Collector XP if it was completed.
The solution to this is to have two sets: one called “Relics: Dragons 1” that contains older dragon lamps like the Black and Jade ones, and then another open set called “Relics: Dragons 2” that contains the newer ones like Azure, Maroon, Rose Gold etc. The same approach would apply to other, similar item types like Ice Cream Machines, Fans, etc.
âť“ Frequently asked questions
Q: Which furni will you add to Collector Cabinets?
A: Any furni we’ve released could be added to Collector Cabinets. Each furni we want to add will be analysed on a case by case basis. We will look at both the average Marketplace price and the supply when making the decision to add them.
There are almost certainly furni that we will not add to Collector Cabinets, and there may be some that we add to Collector Cabinets with a hotel lock, which means they can only be used on the hotel they originate from.
Q: Which Relics will you add hotel locks to?
A: Each furni we add to Collector Cabinets will be approached on a case by case basis, looking at its average Marketplace cost and supply on each of the nine hotels we operate. Hotel locks will only be used in the most extreme cases.
Q: Can you share the full list of future sets?
A: The list of sets is extremely big and we don’t feel that it’s necessary to share it with the community at this stage, however this may change in the future.
Q: Why did you involve the Community Council when deciding on which Relics should be in which sets?
A: The Community Council is full of players with in-depth knowledge of furni and Habbo history that we do not currently have on the team. In addition to this, they are all good communicators and work very well with staff, which is almost just as important as specialist knowledge. We could not have done anything mentioned in this article without them.
Involving the wider community in this process is a great idea in theory, but in practice would have been extremely messy and hard to manage. We feel that the Community Council has represented the community well in this case.
Q: How do you decide how many Curator Stamps each Relic requires?
A: We have a simple, scalable formula that allows us to quickly and fairly assign a Curator Stamp cost to any Relic. In order to avoid market manipulation, and to allow ourselves room to be pragmatic with some special cases, this formula is not something we will make public at this stage.
Q: How many Relics will be released at a time?
A: There is no set number of Relics we will include in a release. Given how many items we’ve released over the course of Habbo’s lifetime, it’s likely that some releases will be significantly larger than the first ones we put out.
Q: How often will you release a new batch of Relics?
A: We aim to release a new batch of Relics every month, but this is not guaranteed.
Q: Will I have enough time to mint them all?
A: You can see how long you have left to mint a specific Relic by opening the Collector Cabinet in the Collectors Guild (do this by opening the “Me” menu, and clicking on the Collector Cabinet option).
