Our position on Discord and Twitter
Habbos, recently myself and others on the team here have seen some of you confused about what is allowed and what isn’t in terms of chatting about social media platforms in-game. Specifically Discord after the launch of the Habbo Avatars Discord server.
First of all, I want to be as clear as possible that the Habbo Avatars Discord server is not meant for Habbos from the existing community – it’s for NFT collectors and Habbo Avatar owners. This is why we don’t promote it as an official Habbo Discord to our community. It’s also why we only allow people with specific NFTs to chat there. Check this guide for more information about the server.
What’s allowed in-game:
Discord and Twitter are filtered when used in a lot of sentences because Habbo is a 13+ game, and we need to ensure we properly protect the people that play it. If you’re actually trying to initiate a meeting with someone outside of the game using these platforms, you are likely to be sanctioned.
However, in most cases, we don’t intend for people to be sanctioned or banned for just saying the word ‘Discord’ or ‘Twitter’. The team and I totally understand that you might want to discuss something we’ve posted on Twitter or Discord, and from our perspective that’s OK.
If you’ve been sanctioned for discussing Twitter or Discord and you feel as though the sanction is unfair, please submit a ticket in your hotel’s help section and our team will look into it for you.
Nine times out of ten the sanction is not because you just mentioned these platforms, it’s because of something else you said. We’re thinking that this is probably why misinformation has been spreading about us banning Habbos for mentioning ‘Twitter’ or ‘Discord’.
