Get your hands dirty: Gardening skill trial begins next week!
We’re trialling a brand new skill in Habbo Hotel: Origins: Gardening! That’s right: we’re going full on greenfingers, community.
But before we officially poll it, starting next week we’re running a week-long trial so you can test the skill out, grow some stuff, and then vote to approve its introduction to the Hotel.

🪴 Here’s how the trial works:
- You’ll get a small batch of free gardening tokens.
- Use them after talking to the new NPC in the Picnic Area to buy your first plants.
- Click and water your plants to kickstart growth because nothing happens until you do.
- Wait a little while, water them again if you have time to help ensure they don’t die, then harvest them for more gardening tokens.
- Repeat. Obsess. Possibly name your plants. No one’s judging.
🔧 This trial is all about testing, so:
- Gardening experience and token balances will be reset after the trial finishes. Garden plants will also be removed from Habbos' inventories and rooms.
- Soon after the trial ends, we’ll run an InfoBus poll to see if the community wants the Gardening skill added for real.
🗳️ The InfoBus poll
One thing we’re very keen to get your input on during the InfoBus poll is the ability to trade plants with other players!
Here’s how it would work: you’d buy a special Plant Sack, place a fully grown plant inside it, and from that point on, the plant becomes tradable. You’d be able to trade any level plant, but you'd also need to purchase a pot to plant it again, and harvesting it to get gardening tokens from it would require the appropriate gardening level.
This would add a fun new dynamic to the Habbo Hotel: Origins economy – rewarding time spent gardening by letting you grow and trade decorative furni that might be hard to find, or in high demand.
ANYWAYS: let us know what you think in the poll after the trial, and make sure you consider this part of the gardening proposal!
💬 Gathering your early feedback
Before we finalise the InfoBus poll questions, we’d love your early feedback on things like:
- How the plants and UI look.
- How easy it is to use the feature.
- Any other workable improvements or additions you'd like to see included in the poll, or at least considered for future versions of the skill.

Keep an eye on the website for information about when the trial starts!
