Take 2: The Return of Habbowood

Roll back the tapes… Habbowood is back with a brand-new competition brief, blockbuster prizes, and several quality-of-life improvements to the video editor! The creative minds behind Bobba and The Quackory are rolling out the red carpet and invite you to grab your cameras, cue the lights, and direct a short film that would make even the largest studios jealous.

The Director’s Brief: A Summer Blockbuster

It’s time to put on your director’s hat once more and create a Summer Blockbuster that wows our judges. Action, comedy, horror, romance, adventure… or an impressive blend of all the above! The choice is yours, but please read the rules carefully:

• The competition began at 11:00 a.m. (Habbo Time / UTC) on July 28th.
• Your movie must be no more than five (5) minutes long and submitted using the Habbowood Movie Maker on Bobba before 11:00 a.m. (Habbo Time/UTC) on August 11th.
• Once you make and submit a movie using the updated movie maker tool, we will be able to see it. You do not need to do anything else!
• Only one entry per player. If you create a new movie using the same director’s name, it will overwrite your previous entry. If you submit multiple movies from multiple accounts, you risk being disqualified from the competition completely.

Your video submission will be judged based on Creativity(set design, camera work, sound effects, usage of the editor), Cohesiveness(does the story make sense from start to finish?) and Connection (does it entertain us, move us, make us laugh or cry or feel something?).

The Director’s Spoils: What’s Up for Grabs

If your film steals the show, you’ll be going home with some incredible player-sponsored prizes thanks to the generosity of BobBarker and Tee:

• 1st Place: Typewriter, 1,000 credits, and a Bobba Homes sticker bundle
• 2nd Place: Typewriter, 750 credits, and a Bobba Homes sticker bundle
• 3rd Place: Typewriter, 500 credits, and a Bobba Homes sticker bundle

The top 15 entries (including the top 3) will also be awarded the iconic Habbowood badge in-game! Please note, this badge is not exclusive to this event, so it may be given out again in the future.

The Director’s Notes: Important Things to Know

• This is a player-created event, funded and organized by .com users Icing, BobBarker, Howl, and Matthew. All prizes and judging, aside from the in-game badge, will be provided by these users.
• All entries for this competition will be judged blind solely based on the criteria listed above (the panel will only see the title of your movie when watching the entries).
• This competition is only available to users on the .com hotel. Winning entries will be revealed live on Twitch (OriginsMatthew) once all videos have been reviewed, judged, and verified. The date and time of the livestream will be announced on Bobba and The Quackory once available, followed by a detailed article for those who cannot make it.
