Your pub’s side business

Sometimes businesses need a hustle. What is YOUR pub’s side business?

Builders and lovers of questionable side hustles – we have a challenge for you: Create the most intriguing, slightly sketchy backroom of a classic pub.

This could be anything (within reason): A wig and mustache reselling-salon, a taxidermy workshop, or a speakeasy serving cocktails in teacups – bring the creativity, cunning, and mischief 😉

📝 YOUR OBJECTIVE

Create a room that represents a pub’s side business.

❗ Note that you don’t need to have participated in the pub-themed room building competition we ran earlier this month.

📤 How to enter

Create a room following the instructions above.
Name your room ‘My Pub’s Side Business 2025’.
You must use the 104 tiles layout for your building (pictured, right).
Take a screenshot, and if you want, a screen recording of your room. Make sure to include the FULL room in your screenshot so that the white text showing the room name and owner is visible in the bottom left hand corner.
Upload it to a social media platform like X, or an image sharing site like Imgur. It’s vitally important that we (Origins Staff) can view the image without needing to create an account or log into a third party site 👍
Put the link and your avatar name in this Google Form between now and 7 am UTC (8am BST / 00:00 PST) on 31/03.

🧑‍⚖️ Judging

We’ll be judging the competition on your:

Creative take on the brief. How will you make your side business room fun, and perhaps even funny? Be creative when selecting the side business your pub is involved in. Perhaps you’d even consider including some sort of Habbo lore in your room…
Innovative use of furni. Using Origins furni in new and interesting ways can really help to make your room stand out from the rest.
Technical skill. Stacking furni isn’t required, but it can often really help your room match specific themes.

We haven’t provided a mood board this time to ensure you have as much creative freedom as possible.

🛑 Further information and rules:

Please bear in mind the Habbo Way when you’re creating your room. A “Questionable side hustle” should be something fun and / or funny, not straight up illegal!
Scripting tools are not allowed. If you’re caught using scripting tools, you will be disqualified immediately. You may even be blacklisted in future competitions if you use scripting tools, so DO NOT RISK IT!
If you’re worried about people stealing your build ideas, please upload the picture of your room to a file sharing site like Imgur instead of a social media profile. This makes it much harder to discover. Also, staff can enter your room regardless of whether or not it’s visible in the Navigator, or whether it’s locked or not. So keep it locked if you want to keep your ideas to yourself!

1st place: that week’s rare, 500 credits, Gold Hammer Trophy
2nd place: that week’s rare, 400 credits, Silver Hammer Trophy
3rd place: that week’s rare, 300 credits, Bronze Hammer Trophy
4th place: that week’s rare, 200 credits
5th place: that week’s rare, 100 credits

The top 20 entries will get a badge (pictured to the right, with the hammers).
