Collaborating with our community on events
Hello Origins!
Over the past six months or so, we’ve seen feedback from all across the community that Origins needs more in-game activities, and that events and games hosts want official support from us to run their own games. We hear you, and we are currently working on a separate, exciting new initiative to help address these requests. But this will be a subject for a (near) future article.
Discussing events with game creators and hosts
Lately, we’ve received messages from all over the place about YOUR creative games and activities. Sometimes players offer us their games to be used in the staffs’ weekly live events and other times, sometimes they want us to participate in their events or just let us know what they are doing in the game.
I’m personally very interested in knowing more about games, activities and events you like to be part of, participate in and play. I also want to be in touch with the creative minds at Origins and get to know what you have been up to lately.
To make things easier for our team, organize things and also make it easier for you to get in touch with us about activities, games and events, I’ve created a new email that everyone can use to send us your game to be used during staff live events or ask questions related to your activity.
So, if you are an Origins player that loves to build and create activities for others, and you want to talk to us about it, see it become official, get in touch with us by sending us an email to: sulake-gamersarena@azerion.com. Please, don’t forget to add the following in the email subject line: your Hotel (COM, ES or BR), avatar name and the activity’s name.
After receiving your message, we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. Remember that our team is slowly growing, so please be patient.
I also want to be clear that this is not an events competition with prizes or perks being awarded for your game being used. It’s a way for me and others on the team to:
- Offer better and more varied games to the rest of the community.
- Watch and learn from experienced Origins games hosts and creators.
- Potentially collaborate with these players in the future.
We feel that it’s important to work with players that care about hosting and creating games, as opposed to players who are only in it to get exclusive badges or items.
The future of live events in Habbo Hotel: Origins
We understand that players are keen to see many more live events in Origins, specifically games and events hosted by trusted players. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, we’re actively working on a separate, much more ambitious initiative we’re confident will excite the community, and we’ll be sharing it with you as soon as we get the details worked out. Stay tuned!
Kind regards,
Is there a deadline for submissions, or is it ongoing?
There is no deadline for submissions, no. This is an ongoing process of sourcing games from the community for us to host for the rest of the community.
How many player-created games will Origins Staff host per month?
This isn’t something we can put a number on right now.
Can I submit more than one game?
Please submit one game per avatar and wait for a response. This may change in the future depending on the volume of event proposal emails we receive.
Will I get feedback if my game isn’t selected?
We cannot guarantee you will get feedback, as we expect to get lots of emails from players. But we can guarantee you will get a response if you email us a game with all of the required information.
How long will it take for my game to be considered?
It’s impossible to say, as it depends on the number of emails we get.
Can I submit a game I co-created with other Habbos?
Yes!
Will I receive rewards or recognition if my game is used?
At this stage, we’re not providing any items, badges or perks to players who submit a game that is then made official. However, you will get a shout out. However this is quite likely to change as our player engagement strategy evolves and we build out the initiative we mentioned in the above article.
What's the selection criteria? What are you looking for?
Your game or event should be easy to host, it should be located in one room, it needs clear rules, many people should be able to play at once, and, most importantly, it should be fun!
Why aren’t you using your Discord server for this?
Email is more inclusive, and is an easier way for us to communicate with players.
