Chinese Zodiac art competition winners
So you've probably seen a lot of the entries for this competition on Discord and X already. If you have, you'll probably have been, like us, blown away by some of the stuff players have come up with.
Multiple staff have done their best to separate the good from the excellent, so please be kind to us, and remember that there will always be some element of subjectivity to this sort of competition.
The top 5
1. puppylove // We couldn't fault this entry. The colours are fantastic, and we love how puppylove has filled the space completely with Origins furni. What really stood out for us was the use of closed Teal / Dave Parasols to give a feathered effect to the artwork – the team thought that was really clever. Overall, very worth of 1st place!

2. Steve // The way Steve used different furni to give a textured look to the Rabbits face in this entry is very clever. Equally clever is the use of furni in the background to mimic mountains in a kind of pattern.

3. MrTroll // The detail MrTroll has incorporated into this work of art is SO impressive. The flowers they've created add to the overall effect, and the way in which the tiger is pictured from the side makes it look really majestic.

4. Vincent // We really, really loved the placing and use of furni in this piece. Vincent really hit the brief and made a very good looking chicken. The colours are bright, vivid and make the whole artwork really stand out.

5. Expired // This ram is exquisite! As well as a great use of furni to create the horn, the structure of the face, and some well chosen colours to make the animal stand out and look bold, we really liked the background and framing of this entry. A well deserved place in the top 5, we think!

15 Runners up (in no particular order)
Adam // Adam's tiger made great use of furni. Overall it felt simple, but the stylised effect he achieved really hit well with us!

amiee // The way the dragon is curled around the central moon really made this stand out. As well as being very on brief, the placing of furni was very neat.

Amumu // Like Adam's tiger, Amumu's rooster really made a great use of furni, while also managing to achieve an interesting, stylised effect.

Builder // We really liked Builder's use of different furni to achieve floral effects. It really made this entry stand out visually!

Christopher // The use of pod chairs here was really interesting. Compared to a lot of the other entries the pods were quite big, but it was still clearly a dog which is exactly what we asked for. Well done on this!

demoncat // Lots of entries used black furni to create lines, but this one stood out for us. It felt like we were looking at a stained glass window. Nice work!

Dreads // Dreads achieved a very bold, standout effect with this dragon. It also felt very "Habbo".

Eugeen // Innovation is something we ALWAYS like to see in Habbo Hotel: Origins. (Zoom in to see what we mean!)

eXpert // eXpert's tiger has a more messy style to it than some of the other entries, which we really liked.

KingKen // The choice to have two bold colours felt like a good play here. We were also very impressed with how KingKen didn't use lines in the same way as a lot of other entries. Great work!

LottiePops // Great use of plasto here! Bold and clear, too.

Mohamed // This was an interesting approach, and felt very on-brief. We felt like you could easily have seen something like this in a Chinese art gallery or museum!

SukiiS // Another solid, bold entry. We liked that the tiger is pictured from the side, and the use of colours and furni is on point.

Wombat // This was a really cool, detailed entry. The construction of the flowers in the foreground was particularly cool!

Xtal // We really liked this entry! The way the dragon is positioned feels very true to how dragons are portrayed in Chinese culture and art.

Thank you to ALL players that entered. It was hard work deciding which ones to downgrade from the special mentions, let alone choose the top 5 😅
We'd be interested in knowing on X if you liked this competition, and if you have any other suggestions for similar types of competition. So, tag us @HabboOrigins.
We expect to donate the winners' prizes tomorrow.
