Chinese Tea Room competition WINNERS!
WHOA NOW. The level of building skill in this community is truly insane, honestly. So many good builds, which inevitably made the task of judging as hard as it's ever been!
We looked for technical skill, ability to stick to the Chinese Tea Room brief, and creative usage of furni. As well as the top 5, followed by the 15 runners up, we’ve also included some special mentions at the end of the article.
Thank you to EVERYONE that entered. It’s so much fun going through your entries and seeing what you are all capable of!
The top 5
1. Sumya // Overall this room is spectacular. The stacking, colour scheme and water effect made this room a clear winner for us. Well done to Sumya!
2. Dinosaurio // Not only did Dinosaurio hit the brief with their tea room, but they also made it look really grand. We really liked the pagoda in the top left hand corner, and we really liked the floating Amber Lamps in the top right hand corner. Then, the waterfalls flowing through the team room itself felt very innovative and really helped to make the room feel luxurious, and on-brief.
3. Boldz // What stood out to us here was the way Boldz managed to locate their tea room on a stationary boat, or some sort of raised platform. The use of benches to make a step ladder, or bridge to the boat, was a cool idea, as was the use of pillars. We also liked the overall look and feel of this build.
4. Galaxy // The use of plasto furni to create a cherry blossom tree in the corner of this room felt pretty innovative, and the colour scheme and use of posters really gave this a serene feeling. Also, having a grand structure as the centrepiece of the actual tea room was a well judged addition, we felt.
5. Spidercides // An impressive, multi-room build that hit the brief and demonstrated a lot of technical skill. We really liked the floating elements and the big shrine-style build over to the right.

15 runners up (in no particular order)
6. Expired // This was a very pretty and well put together room. We loved the central garden!
7. Chileno // We really liked the roofing effect on this build.
8. Murdock // The use of screens and the rug to make a corridor-like effect was really cool here.

9. Jano // Quite an interesting tea room, but we couldn’t deny this room a top 20 spot due to the pagoda centrepiece!
10. Charlie // The darkened lighting, use of music posters and overall ambience ensured this build made the top 20.
11. Juicyjuice // This room really hit the old school Habbo Hotel notes, and we enjoyed the (slightly out-there) purple colour scheme. Stacking on point, too.
12. Plutocrat // Plutocrat really, really made good use of the space in this build. Great arrangement of furni, too!
13. Document // The use of plants and bonsais in this room really made the team room feel real and plausible. Also, shout out to the VIP zone at the back with the sofas.
14. z0e // Creating different zones in this build made it stand out. Well put together, too.
15. Mixel // We really liked the bamboo garden in this build!
16. Steve // For a small build, this one really stood out. The tiny garden at the back sealed this one’s position in the top 20.
17. Suspire // This was an impressive build. The use of chairs in the roof and colour scheme secured this entry’s place in the top 20.
18. Jxlie // We loved the use of furni in the actual tea room, but even cooler was the massive cherry blossom tree in the garden!

19. KevinNL // The bar was the standout feature in this room, but we also liked the layout and more normal, less grand vibe in this build.
20.-Brad // Brad’s room took a slightly different approach from a lot of others, and we liked that it had the tea room tables lined around the side of the room.
