Enable 2FA and get a free badge!
To increase the number of Habbos using two-factor authentication (2FA) to secure their accounts, we're offering everyone who enables it before 04:00 am UTC on February 27th a FREE badge 🎖️
On February 27th, we’ll log every single account that has 2FA enabled, and distribute the badge pictured on the left to all avatars on those accounts.
Please don’t disable 2FA on your account until after you’ve received your badge, as it’s not confirmed exactly when we will note which accounts have 2FA enabled, and which don’t. We hope to send out all of the badges on the 27th, but it may take slightly longer.
How to enable 2FA
We provide a choice of either email-based 2FA or app-based 2FA.
If you choose email-based 2FA, every time you log into Habbo from a device that you haven't set as trusted, you'll be emailed a one-time code. (See the final section of this article for more information about setting devices as trusted.) You’ll then need to enter the code we send you on our website to gain access to your account.
App-based 2FA involves the use of a third party authenticator app which provides a login code directly via your mobile device or desktop internet browser.
If you choose to use an authenticator app, Google’s version is a good option. This is available as a Google Chrome extension, as well as a mobile app on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.
ℹ️ Check this page for more information about how to set up 2FA.
Benefits of two-factor authentication:
- Makes your account much more secure. Even if a hacker manages to get your login details, or you click a malicious link that installs a keylogger on your computer, the hacker will find it extremely difficult to gain access to your account if you have 2FA enabled.
- No more email login codes with app-based 2FA. If you enable app-based 2FA, you won’t need to monitor your email inbox for login codes. This is handy if your email provider places emails from us in a spam folder, for example.
- Set up trusted devices. Whenever you log in after enabling 2FA, you can choose to let us remember your device as a trusted location. This means we will not ask for a login code again when you log in from the same device. Note that you have the option of resetting your trusted locations under 2FA settings whenever you want.
