The 2023 Habbo merchandise design competition!
📢 CALLING ALL ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS 📢
Our official Habbo merch competition is now LIVE and open to entries!Â
Send us your four designs – a hoodie, cap, T-Shirt and plushy – to have a chance of winning an extraordinarily exclusive badge, all four of the physical merchandise items (including their digital equivalents), and seeing your designs manufactured and released as OFFICIAL Habbo merchandise!
Designs will be judged on creativity, flair, and their adherence to the Habbo theme. We’re looking for artwork that really conveys the magic of Habbo 👾
❗️ IMPORTANT: all designs submitted will be considered as concepts, and may be subject to slight changes to ensure they can be manufactured.
Rules and design specifications
- For your entry to be valid, you MUST submit four designs – one each for the cap, hoodie, T-Shirt, and plushy.
- You can submit designs that follow any art style, including pixel art. However, they must be Habbo-themed.Â
- Each of the four designs you submit must work together visually as a set. I.e. the cap, plushy, hoodie and T-Shirt should look relatively similar.
- After we choose the winner, we will need to upscale the designs. If you do decide to use pixel art, your design should be hand drawn with 1:1 pixels. This is so that it’s easy for our artists to upscale it for the Juniper Creates team.
- You must submit as high a resolution image as possible, in .png format. High resolution is classed as 300dpi in this case. If you don’t have a programme that allows you to get this resolution, make it as high resolution as possible, as we will still consider putting it on the shortlist if the design is good.
- Please avoid submitting overly detailed designs. If a design is too detailed, it’s more likely to be subject to small changes to ensure it can be manufactured by Juniper Creates.
- Related to the above point – if you include small details on your design and it’s chosen as a winning design, the in-game equivalent likely won’t show the detailed bits because Habbo clothing is made up of a very small number of pixels.
- You should submit your design as an image file, .png is preferred, We cannot accept pictures of hand drawn designs you’ve done on paper.
Templates and examples
For the cap, hoodie, and T-Shirt, you must submit your design using one of the three templates shown in the section below. You can download all three templates using this link.
Note:Â
- There is no template for the plushy but you can see what they look like below as a guide.
- Included in the downloadable file we’ve linked above are templates for both the back AND front of the hoodie.
- Hoodie
- In the above image, the dark and light areas show areas of the hoodie that can be coloured differently. You can have between 1-3 different fabric colours – e.g. you could have the sleeves and front pocket in black, the hoodie in white, and the inner layer in red. Note that these colours are the colours of the actual fabric, NOT the design you put on.Â
- The design itself will be printed on the hoodie, and you can use as many colours as you want.
- You can cover the entire hoodie with your design, but anything that crosses the seams won’t join up fully.
- In the above example, you can see that the design is an all-over sleeve print, and has custom drawstring colours.
- Similar to the hoodie, you can use up to 3 different fabric colours in your T-Shirt design. Note that these colours are the colours of the actual fabric, NOT the design you put on. The design itself will be printed on the T-Shirt, and for the design you can use as many colours as you want.
- You can cover the entire T-Shirt with the design itself if you want, like in the example above.
- The above example shows a T-Shirt with an all-over print, and two colours (white and red).
- You can use up to two colours in your cap design. Note that these colours are the colours of the actual fabric, NOT the design you put on. The design itself will be printed or embroidered onto the cap.
- The above example shows an embroidered design and two colours (black and orange)
- You MUST submit a design like the examples used above. I.e. a cuddly toy figure. It can’t diverge from this, for example you cannot submit pillows, or different types of Habbo furni.
- Plushies are 27.5cm tall x 15cm wide, so your design should account for that.
- You can design it in sleeping, sitting or standing pose (see above examples for each of these poses).
❗️ IMPORTANT: all designs submitted will be considered as concepts, and may be subject to slight changes to ensure they can be manufactured.

We will make a shortlist of the top four sets of designs. Afterwards, the community will have the ultimate decision-making power in determining which set of designs we ultimately employ for these four items. If your designs are shortlisted, you’ll get a runners up badge!
The overall winner will get:
- All four physical items of merchandise, including their digital equivalents.
