NFT furni in Habbo

Habbos: back in September we launched a collection of NFTs we called Habbo Avatars. The second milestone in the project’s roadmap we published is what’s known as an ‘airdrop’ in NFT land – in this case it’s a free NFT given to everyone that owns Habbo Avatars. It’s a really nice take on the legendary HC Sofa; see the picture I included below.

That airdrop has now happened and the NFTs are with their owners. The next phase is to actually make those NFT usable in-game as an actual furni. We’re planning to complete this integration this month, but there’s a good chance it’ll take longer. We’re just keen to give you a heads up before you suddenly start seeing interesting new furni around the Hotel!

As you can see in the image above, the HC Sofa has a special, blue pixel icon next to it. This is the icon we will use for all NFT furni we release to ensure it’s clear for all Habbos that it’s not just a regular item. Exactly why it’s not a regular item is covered below.

What’s the difference between an NFT furni and a regular furni?

An NFT Furni is similar to an LTD in Habbo: it’s a limited edition item that can be used in Habbo. The main difference between NFT furni and an LTD is that the NFT is stored in the Ethereum blockchain, and can only be traded or sold in a specific blockchain marketplace and not inside Habbo (at least for now).

However, after connecting the MetaMask wallet that contains the NFT furni, you will be able to use it in Habbo the same way you can use other furni. If you get rid of the NFT furni from your MetaMask wallet, the furni will be removed from your inventory/room.

In-game integration for the NFT Furni will be implemented soon – as said above the aim is to have it in Habbo this year.

How can I get one of these NFT furni?

If you don’t own a Habbo Avatar, you can still buy NFT furni we release from Immutable X, which is an NFT marketplace similar to Opensea. Please ensure you read their terms and conditions before you use it!
